Dielectric Laboratories (DLI) launched the production of new single layer capacitors on the basis of UX material, which is now available in a 50 V rating. UX has the highest dielectric constant of any of DLI’s wide variety of materials. The high dielectric constant (K) allows the higher capacitance values at smaller sizes.

Enhanced dielectric material can be used in the production of new capacitors and capacitor structures of many types, including Di-Caps (single layer capacitors), Border Caps (structures with one- or two-sided recessed metallization), Bar Caps (arrays with multiple single layer capacitors), Gap Caps (series configured single layer capacitors).

• capacitance range: 51…10000 pF
• nominal dielectric constant: 25000
• temperature coefficient of capacitance (-55…125 ºС): ±15 %
• dissipation factor (1 МHz): <2.5 %
• dielectric withstanding voltage: 250 % of rated voltage
• insulation resistance (25 ºС): >10³ MΩ
• metallization: 100 μ" Au over 300 Å TiW

Main applications for new capacitors: ultra-broadband decoupling, broadband DC blocking, amplifier stabilization, energy storage. These capacitors meet the military standard MIL-PRF-38534 (Class K) and are suitable for space application.
