New microwave socket from Ironwood Electronics | April 8, 2016 |
Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance socket - SMP-BGA-8007. New model is intended for BGA packages. It featured wide temperature range. Socket is constructed with high performance and low inductance elastomer contactor.
Main features:
Socket comes with a protective matrix (a gold plated copper cylinder) that sits on top of the conductive silver columns. This matrix protects the conductive silver columns from contamination. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering, and uses mechanical hardware for mounting. The socket is constructed with swivel lid which incorporates a quick insertion method so that IC's can be changed out quickly. The socket is also designed to dissipate few watts with aluminum compression screw assembled on the swivel lid and can be customized up to 100 watts with modified fin design on top of the screw and adding axial flow fan.
